Select English, London operates out of a beautiful Victorian building with traditional charm but with modern facilities. The School has ten bright and airy classrooms all appropriately equipped for effective language teaching.
Select English, London is situated in Crystal Palace in the southeast of London. Crystal Palace is a charming and up-and-coming residential area of London. There are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs within easy reach of the school. It is also very green with plenty of trees and parks. Crystal Palace is the highest point in south London and offers amazing views over the whole of London.
Crystal Palace offers a perfect study environment for anyone who wants to experience London, but be located in peaceful surroundings and live in the proximity of the school. All our homestay accommodation is in the Crystal Palace area and either in walking distance or only a short bus ride away. Our private residence is also only a ten-minute walk from the school.
Students can start any Monday from January to December. Students can study from a minimum of two weeks, up to a long-term course of four or six months or even one year. We offer a choice of 15 or 25 hours of General English per week.
The 15-hour course offers lessons linked to a variety of topics and includes useful grammar points. Speaking, listening, reading and writing skills are also integrated into the teaching.
The 25-hour course, in addition to what the 15-hour course covers, offers further skills-based lessons in the afternoon to give students the opportunity for extra practice and helps them achieve greater fluency and accuracy in the language.
Select English London is one of the few schools that is always open at Christmas. We only close on official Bank Holidays. It is a great opportunity to experience an English Christmas and also London in this very special festive season. Our Christmas course runs for three weeks, however, students are welcome to start their course earlier or stay longer in the New Year.
We organise a trip to Oxford Street so that students can experience the world famous Christmas lights. We also organise a Christmas party with Santa Claus presenting the students with a small present. On Christmas Day and Boxing Day, students celebrate in their host families. On New Year’s Eve students have the opportunity to visit central London and see the spectacular fireworks display.
