Meridian School of English Portsmouth

Portsmouth is located mainly on Portsea Island; the United Kingdom's only island city. As a result the Portsmouth ferry port is one of the busiest in the UK carrying over 2 million passengers every year. It is home to the Royal Navy, the University of Portsmouth and Portsmouth Football Club; which was founded in 1898. Portsmouth has been used in a number of films and television shows such as Tomorrow Never Dies (James Bond), Oscar and Lucinda, and Mr. Bean. It is also home to Charles Dickens, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Meridian School of English! Our English school in Portsmouth is located on the third floor of the beautiful and historic Portsmouth Guildhall. There is lift access to the third floor.
There are currently 11 Classrooms and a computer room for general internet and resource access with a total capacity for 114 students. In the summer months we have 2 extra classrooms which can accommodate an additional 30 students.

Students develop their English language skills through listening, speaking, reading and writing. They practise and improve their pronunciation and grammar using a variety of media including course books and specially prepared lessons based on the needs of the class. The lessons are classroom based and students work individually, in pairs and in small groups.

An individual learning plan is created for each student and a certificate awarded at the end of the course. Teachers provide advice and guidance for students who wish to continue their studies when they return home.
