Moira House is a leading independent day and boarding School for girls aged 0 to 18 years. Founded in Surrey in 1875, and moving to Eastbourne in 1887, Moira House is an inter-denominational School welcoming girls of all faiths into the community. The School remains true to the educational ethos of its founder Charles Ingham who was regarded as a gifted pioneer in the field of female education. Situated on the Downs in the leafy suburb of Meads, Eastbourne and with views over the sea, the grounds open directly onto the South Downs national park which provide magnificent walking, cycling and pony trekking opportunities for the girls. There are extensive playing fields with access to facilities for Tennis, Cricket, Football, Hockey (including astro), Netball and Athletics. The School also has a 25-metre indoor heated swimming pool and an excellent modern Sports Hall. Moira House enjoys a reputation for outstanding creative and performing arts and as well as our own facilities in School, Eastbourne has a thriving cultural centre including three theatres, an art gallery and a concert hall, all of which are actively used by the School.
For students aged 8 to 12, 13 to 17
Located on high grounds with views of the sea, Moira House is the perfect place to learn English and have a lot of fun. It is very atmospheric and many of our students liken Moira House to Harry Potter’s school.
Programme includes 15 hours of English lessons a week.
Boys and girls live in comfortable houses with board. All the houses are highly supervised by the monitors providing 24 hours security for the children.
