General English classes offer you the chance to study 3 hours of English in the morning and have free time in the afternoon to enjoy the sights of Oxford, do extra study or even get a part time job.

For the first 2 hours we work with a course book to enable you to improve the 4 main skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as grammar and vocabulary. The third hour focuses on practical English and study skills to help you use the English you have learnt.

Intensive English classes offer you the chance to immerse yourself in the English language with 5 hours of lessons per day in the mornings and afternoons.

Our lessons are interactive, focused and with an emphasis on communication.

The internship programme consists of:
•an English Language Course to prepare students for their internship
•an Internship in a company which is relevant to your experience

This programme is most suitable for people who have practical or theoretical knowledge in a particular field and would like to gain experience in a work environment.

We will attempt to place you in a company where your practical or theoretical knowledge will be most suited.

General English + Private Lessons offer you the chance to study 3 hours of English in the morning in a group class and either one private lesson (PR5) or two private lessons (PR10) in the afternoon on a subject of your choice:

•Further English practice specifically adapted to your needs
•English for Specific Purposes (Business, Medicine, Law, conversation, etc.)
•Examination preparation (IELTS, FCE, etc.)
•GCSE and Advanced Level (A level) exams

The IELTS Exam Preparation Course is ideal for students who:

•want to study at an English speaking University
•want to study for an internationally recognised exam in English

The morning General English classes will focus on the 4 main skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. These are relevant to the 4 sections of the IELTS exam. These lessons will be course book based. The third hour focuses on practical English and study skills to help you use the English you have learnt.

In the afternoon, classes will be focussed on the IELTS exam and the skills you will need to gain a better score. Classes include regular practice tests with individual feedback and advice on how you can improve. We can also offer individual advice for students about your options after the exam.

The Foundation Course in Business Studies is a seven month programme which prepares students from abroad for university entry. Oxford Brookes University professors moderate the work of the students and recognises the Foundation course, which it regards as being equivalent to NQF level 3.

Students in the past have gone on to study at universities such as SOAS, University of Surrey, Sheffield University and Glasgow University. All universities where students have applied have accepted our Foundation Course certificate.

The High School English Programme is a course which allows students to study school subjects in English. This is a great opportunity for high school students to progress in their studies.

It is an ideal course for students who want an introduction to academic study in a British boarding school. The High School English Programme will help you to settle in the UK and become more confident in your English and academic studies before starting at a boarding school.

When students start at their boarding school they find it much easier to adapt and are more confident at integrating into the British way of life than students who arrive directly at their new school.

*2 week Programme in Spring and Summer

The Magical Oxford Programme combines General English in the morning with a magical activity schedule in the afternoon. The programme is designed for students who want to improve their English whilst also learning about:
•the culture and history of Oxford
•the famous authors of Oxford and where they gained their inspiration
•the famous sites in and around Oxford

The programme also includes excursions to London and the Harry Potter Studios.

Our lessons are interactive, focused and with an emphasis on communication.

CIE organises both integrated and customised group programmes throughout the year. These programmes always receive excellent feedback from the students and the tour leaders. For large groups, we use premises such as University College, Lady Margaret Hall or the Oxford Union.
